On the North bank of Mare Humorum lies this circular formation - crater Gassendi with a diameter of about 67 miles. To its North, Gassendi A (20 mi) and Gassendi B (15 mi) form an interesting couple. But the most interesting feature is the floor of Gassendi itself - with numerous rilles stretching across it. It also feature a double central mountain 1,200 metres in height.
